Heather Maisner

Heather Maisner is author of over 36 children’s books, including several award-winning titles, published by Walker Books, Hachette, OUP, Heinemann/Egmont, Frances Lincoln, Macmillan, BBC and others. Her books have been translated into many languages and sold around the world.

Heather teaches creative writing to children and has been Author in
Residence at two Hammersmith primary schools. She taught
trainee teachers at the University of Hertfordshire and
students at Queen Mary’s College, and was on the Board of
Directors at ALCS (Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society).

Heather’s children’s books range from picture books to books
for fluent readers and teenagers. Many titles are ideal for reluctant young readers, combining fiction
with fact, and games with information,

Heather spends her time between London and Norfolk, where her house has always been full of pets: dogs,
cats, hamsters, rabbits, a chinchilla – but no dinosaurs until now . . .

Her latest project, Dinosaur Douglas Books, features cheeky Dinosaur Douglas, in health-related stories for
Early Years, using rhyming texts and zany illustrations by international artist Alex Godwin.
